The Viking Store

Visit The Viking Store

The Viking store is a UK based LARP and Re-enactment supplier, providing a dizzying amount of live action roleplay weapons, metal and leather armour.

The quality of the larp weaponry looks excellent and the pricing goes from a reasonable price for a basic sword to expensive but for extremely detailed work, so still worth it.

The site provides numerous accessories including jewellery, prosthetics and in character camping gear.

This site is certainly up their with LRPstore and the other large LARP suppliers out their.

  1. Well where to begin, in 2010 I bought some Wytch Elf Armour which seemed to be there new flag ship of female costume / armour. It cost a lot of money due to the extra work I wanted on it (it being dyed purple) but the quality was amazing. it took around 6 weeks to make and thats what was posted on the site. I have since then bought from them and only had one problem which was earlier this year (2011) which wasn’t there fault, unfortunately as one of there manufacturers was causing problems, however they put the order right and gave me some freebies to say sorry (which they didn’t have to) So I was rather shocked by that.

Its the first time I’ve actually experienced good customer service online before with regards online retailers in the UK.

I was tempted to give them 9/10 for the one order which had mistakes, but even so they still delivered it on time before the event, and considering how much diversity the store has, there just doesn’t seem to be another like it in the UK.

They usually respond to there emails in 24-48 hours and sometimes quicker, sometimes later, but that’s the average (which is about right with what they say on the site).

Considering this company only started in 2010, they are really moving forwards and seem to be constantly improving there service.

  2. I ordered a shirt 21 days ago and haven’t received it yet. I sent 5 emails, and nobody replied. I called many times, and nobody answered.. It’s very normal if they don’t have it in stock; but then they have to inform me. If I don’t receive any reply or my money back or the item this week, I will report them as a scam company.

  3. My order took over 6 weeks; they also stopped talking to me 4 weeks in. When i finally called paypal the staff finally sent me an email, and 2 of the 3 items I ordered turned up. I was promised a refund of the 3rd item and my postage costs, but no sign of the refund yet. It has been one week since I agreed to this solution and they are once again not responding to emails.

  4. Over two months and £250 of kit not arrived. To say I’m unhappy is possibly about the most that can be said without resorting to four letter words.

  5. I bought a Pirate Sword recently from them and some similar clothing to match, although they were out of stock of the original sword I wanted, they pointed me to another sword, which is bigger and better, and offered it for the same price. I saved about £5.89, and the items turned up in around 4-5 days after the item’s were bought. Most Impressed!

  6. A pretty darn good larp supplier. Doesn’t always have what you want in stock, but that seems to be mostly due to *their* supplier not providing on time more than anything.

Certainly very helpful and knowledgeable with a wide range of items!

  7. This site has one of the best selection of larp involved gear I have found yet. Many sites have a few items in each category whereas Viking Store has loads. You will also find many items you will not find anywhere else!

  8. Have basically gotten all of my armour from this store, been a larper for many a year and have done my research and hey are actually cheaper than most, if not all other uk larp suppliers, hence why I was more than happy to spend £200 + as apposed to the extortionate amount other stores charge.

Would definately recommend the Metal Armour, although I would be wary of the cheaper weapons, as I bought a Knights Sword from them and it was not to my liking.

I concur with another poster in stating that overall they are by far the most helpful and friendly dealing with issues, as I had with the sword, and they were more than amicable! Would recommend to everyone.

  10. I bought a Chainsword off of another supplier but was informed after waiting 2 weeks that it was out of stock. Some months later I then got in contact with TheVikingStore. Well, after placing my order, it took them very little longer than 3 days for the item to arrive with me (including delivery time).

This is some of the fastest service i’ve ever had from a LARP company.

  11. I bought some metal armour, as a full set some months ago. Unfortunately the item was out of stock but they contacted me immediately to let me know, and told me when it would be available. After waiting two months its finally here, its amazing and I can’t believe its cost so little. Some years ago I would have been looking to spend thousands. They have really helped every step of the way.

  12. Well, boots have arrived! THEY ARE AMAZING, so cheap as well. They even sent the order out in two separate deliveries so my elf ears would arrive sooner for Halloween. Considering I paid no extra cost for this I’m I can’t complain.

  13. I have spent 4 weeks phoning, leaving messages and emailing. Absolutely no response at all. I’m amazed that they can run a business like this. They have taken my money but not sent ANYTHING. Take care ordering anything from this place.
